Privacy Policy

Effective Date: December 13, 2025

This Privacy Policy describes how Taberna ("Taberna," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you access or use our website, platform, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable U.S. and Wyoming law.

1. Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.

1.1 Information you provide

When you use Taberna, you may provide:

  • Account information: name, username, email address, password, and contact details.
  • Profile and business information: store name, branding assets, descriptions, support links, and any other details you choose to add.
  • Transaction information: information related to purchases and sales made through the Service (products sold or purchased, order details, prices, currency, timestamps).
  • Payment information: payment details or billing data, as processed via third-party payment providers and our internal crypto systems (Taberna does not store full payment card numbers).
  • Support and communications: content of messages sent to Taberna support, feedback, or other communications with us.

1.2 Information collected automatically

When you access or use the Service, we may automatically collect:

  • Usage data: pages viewed, clicks, features used, referring/exit pages, timestamps, and other interaction data.
  • Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, language settings, and other device information.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: data files stored on your device that help us remember your preferences, maintain sessions, and analyze usage.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but disabling certain cookies may limit functionality.

1.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information about you from:

  • Payment processors and financial partners.
  • Analytics, marketing, or advertising partners.
  • Anti-fraud, AML/KYC, or identity-verification providers where applicable.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service.
  • Create and manage your account, including authentication and security.
  • Process orders and payments, including via third-party processors and our internal crypto payment system.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service.
  • Comply with U.S. federal and Wyoming state legal and regulatory obligations, including AML/KYC requirements where applicable.
  • Communicate with you about your account, transactions, updates to the Service, and respond to your inquiries.
  • Send marketing and promotional communications, including our email newsletter (you may unsubscribe at any time).
  • Analyze and improve the Service and develop new features.

We may aggregate or de-identify data so it can no longer reasonably be linked to an identified person; we may use and share such data for any lawful purpose.

3. Email communications and marketing

When you create a Taberna account, your email address is added to our newsletter and marketing email list. These emails may include:

  • Product and feature updates.
  • Tips and resources for using Taberna.
  • Promotions, offers, and other marketing content.

You can opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link included in those emails. You may still receive non-marketing communications (such as receipts, security alerts, or important service notices).

4. Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in and maintain sessions.
  • Remember preferences and settings.
  • Analyze traffic and usage patterns.
  • Support security and fraud-prevention measures.

Where required by applicable law, we will seek your consent for non-essential cookies. You can adjust your browser settings to block or delete cookies, but some features may not function properly.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:

  • Service providers: With third-party vendors performing services on our behalf (payment processing, hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer support, security).
  • Transaction counterparties: Limited information may be shared between buyers and sellers when necessary to complete or support a transaction.
  • Compliance and legal obligations: With law enforcement, regulators, courts, or other parties when required to comply with U.S. or Wyoming law, legal processes, or enforce our rights and protect users (including fraud prevention and AML/KYC obligations).
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
  • With your direction or consent: When you instruct us to share information or otherwise consent.

Third parties receiving personal data are expected to use it only as necessary to provide their services and in accordance with applicable privacy laws and contracts.

6. Payments and crypto-related data

6.1 Traditional payments

Traditional (fiat) payments are processed by third-party payment processors. Taberna does not store full card numbers and relies on those processors to handle sensitive payment data under their own terms and privacy policies.

6.2 Crypto payments

When you use Taberna's internal crypto payment system, we may process:

  • Wallet addresses and transaction identifiers.
  • Transaction timestamps, amounts, and related metadata.
  • Blockchain network information and technical data.

Because many blockchain networks are public, information about crypto transactions may be visible on the relevant ledger and accessible to third parties. Taberna cannot control third-party analysis or use of on-chain data.

We use crypto-related information to:

  • Facilitate, reconcile, and support transactions.
  • Perform AML/KYC checks and fraud detection as required by applicable law.
  • Improve reliability, security, and functionality of the crypto payment system.

7. AML/KYC and compliance

As a U.S.-based service operating from the State of Wyoming, Taberna may be subject to federal and state-level AML/KYC and related financial-compliance obligations.

To meet these obligations, Taberna may:

  • Request identity and verification information (such as government-issued ID, proof of address, date of birth, or other supporting documentation).
  • Use third-party verification, sanctions-screening, and risk-scoring services.
  • Review and monitor account and transaction activity for suspicious patterns.
  • Report certain activities or transactions to law-enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by U.S. or Wyoming law.

Providing requested AML/KYC information may be necessary to open or maintain an account or to access certain features (including crypto-related features).

8. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide the Service and operate your account.
  • Fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and AML/KYC record-keeping obligations under U.S. and Wyoming law.
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

When data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it in a secure manner, where feasible.

9. Data security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. These may include encryption in transit, access controls, and logging.

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and devices and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

10. Your rights and choices

Under U.S. law, and subject to Wyoming and other applicable state laws, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the ability to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of certain personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Object to or request restriction of certain processing, where applicable.

To exercise these rights, contact us as described in the "Contact" section. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request and may deny or limit requests where permitted or required by law (for example, where data must be retained for AML/KYC, tax, or legal purposes).

You may also:

  • Update certain account details through your Taberna account settings (where available).
  • Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in those emails.

If you are located in a jurisdiction that grants additional rights (such as certain U.S. states with specific privacy statutes), you may contact us to inquire how those rights may apply.

11. Children's privacy

Taberna is not directed to children under the age of digital consent in their jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.

12. International data transfers

Although Taberna is operated from the United States and primarily under the laws of the State of Wyoming, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in other states or countries where our service providers are located. Those locations may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.

Where required by law, we will implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Material changes may be communicated by posting a notice on the Service or by email. Your continued use of Taberna after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
